Unable to dial into the internet. | Check to see if you have a regular dial tone. A broken dial tone informing you that you have messages waiting can confuse the dial up modem. Retrieve your messages and dial again. |
| You get disconnected from the internet while using it. | Check to see if anyone has picked up the phone in another room. If
so hang up phone and dial again.
If you have call waiting, check with you internet provider and make sure that the call waiting is suspended while you are on the internet. |

Check to see if power and ready light are on. Check for a dial tone. If ready light is off or there is no dial tone, contact the telephone company. If above situation is not the case, restart your computer and sign in again. |

If the power light is off, make sure the modem is plugged in and the power is on. If the cable light is off or blinking, unplug the cable modem, wait five minutes and plug the cable modem back in. Wait two minutes. If the cable light does not stay on without blinking, contact your cable provider. If everything above is correct, check the connection between the cable modem and the computer and reboot (restart) the computer. If this does not correct the problem, contact your cable provider. |
